摘要:Charge carrier generation and recombination are crucial processes in solar cells governing photocurrent and power conversion efficiency. Here charge generation in bilayers composed of a cyanine dye and a fullerene acceptor as well as in pristine cyanine films is scrutinized via photo CELIV (Current Extraction by Linearly Increasing Voltage) and time resolved electric field modulated absorption. We reveal that charge transfer states at the cyanine-fullerene interface are limiting the kinetics of electron collection at the cathode. We also unravel charge generation in pristine cyanine films and find that efficient bulk generation gives rise to photoconductivity in such devices.
